Went foaming with my good friend "BNSF Tim" recently and we bagged a few choice shots of some BNSF trackage-rights trains in town along the ex-Western Pacific. May 16 - We are setup near the main entrance to the Feather River fish hatchery, which provides a great view of the railroad in action from the 'other' side of the river. The hatchery fish barrier falls can be composed into the shot to make it all the more scenic along with the greens and yellows of the sweet broom and wild grapes this time of year. 3:30 PM: An eastbound BNSF freight shows up unexpectedly, as we are already in position to watch a westbound officers special. Five 9-44CW "pumpkins" power the eastbound manifest, a common sight around this area as the entrance to the Feather River Nature Center can be seen across the river.
